CWHS Announces Top Students for Class of 2025
Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Area School District is proud to announce the valedictorians and salutatorian of the CWHS Graduating Class of 2025. The valedictorians are Maria Hanson, Conner Hanson, Bryce Killoren, Ali Jenson, Nathan Skoug and Peter Wise. The salutatorian is Gabbriella Guthman.
Guthman, of Weyerhaeuser, is the daughter of Troy Guthman and Amanda Guthman. Throughout her high school career, Guthman has been involved in a number of clubs and organizations, including National Honor Society (president), Freshmen Mentors, Spanish Club, Choir Council (president) and Drama Club. In the fall she plans to attend UW-Eau Claire to study nursing.
Conner Hanson, of New Auburn, is the son of Kristine and Mark Jacobson. He is currently employed at Pinecrest Golf Course in Dallas, WI, and at Turtle Back Golf Course in Rice Lake, WI. During high school, Hanson was active in Boys Golf (captain), Basketball, Football, National Honor Society, Freshman Mentors, Yearbook and was a Roselawn Mentor. Upon graduation, Hanson intends to attend UW-La Crosse for exercise sports science.
Maria Hanson, of Sand Creek, is the daughter of Jim and Jessica Hanson. She is currently employed as a waitress at Pokegama Lakeside Cantina. Hanson was a three-sport athlete all four years of high school, including Volleyball, Basketball and Track & Field. She is also an active member of Student Council (vice president), Spanish Club (co-president), National Honor Society, Freshmen Mentors and Roselawn Mentors. Upon graduating, Hanson hopes to move to Arizona where she’ll attend Grand Canyon University. She intends to study Sports Entertainment and Management, and hopes to work in sports and be part of a sports marketing team.
Jenson, of Chetek, is the daughter of Nichelle Kemp and John Jenson. She is currently a CNA at Meadowbrook in Chetek. Jenson was an active member of the Girls Basketball Team (captain), Volleyball (captain), Freshmen Mentors, National Honor Society, Roselawn Mentors, and the Spanish Club. This fall Jenson will attend UW-Eau Claire as she pursues a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She then plans to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, earning her Doctoral Degree.
Killoren is the son of Lee and Teresa Killoren, of Sand Creek, and works at Turtleback Golf Course in Rice Lake. He has been an active member of several organizations and activities throughout high school, including FBLA (treasurer), Basketball (captain), Golf (captain), Yearbook and National Honor Society. In the fall, Killoren plans to attend UW-Madison to major in business finance or management.
Skoug, of Chetek, is the son of Eric Skoug and Kristen Skoug. He currently works for K3 Fire. Over his high school career, Skoug participated in Football, Cross Country, Basketball, Baseball, Golf, FBLA, Freshmen Mentors, Yearbook and NHS. This fall, Skoug intends to study at UW-Eau Claire, majoring in Social Studies Education with an emphasis on history.
Wise is the son of John and Heidi Wise, of Chetek. Throughout his high school career, Wise has been involved in numerous activities and organizations, including Student Council (president), Band, Band Council, Choir, Choir Council, Drama Club, CW App Team, Cybersecurity Team, FBLA, Yearbook, Speech, NHS, and Spanish Club. He is also a member of the Red Cedar Symphony Orchestra. In the fall, Peter plans to attend UW-Eau Claire to study music. He also hopes to be involved in the Blugold Marching Band. He notes he feels a calling to the priesthood, and plans to attend seminary after graduating from UW-Eau Claire.
Commencement ceremonies for the CWHS Class of 2025 will take place Saturday, May 24 at 1 p.m.
